Central England Academy Trust is commencing a consultation with all stakeholders on the proposal to make amendments to the Higham Lane North Academy Admissions Policy for the 2027/28 academic year. The consultation will run for 6 weeks from Friday 24th October 2025 until Friday 5th December 2025. People wishing to participate in the consultation should click on the link and complete the survey by the deadline of 9am on Friday 5th December. HLNA - 2027/28 Admissions Policy Consultation Survey Rationale for Proposed Change to Admissions Policy Central England Academy Trust proposes to add an additional oversubscription criterion (Priority 5) to include children attending Michael Drayton Junior School. This change reflects the recent integration of Michael Drayton Junior School into the Trust. As a fellow Trust member, it shares educational values, governance structures, and collaborative practices with Higham Lane North Academy. The designation of Michael Drayton as a named feeder school supports continuity of education within the Trust and strengthens community links. The proposed change aims to provide clarity and consistency for families within the Trust and is in line with the School Admissions Code 2021, which permits the inclusion of feeder schools where there is a demonstrable connection. Central England Academy Trust is delighted to launch this consultation under Section 10 of the Academies Act 2010. The Trust are proposing to open a brand new two-form entry (2FE) primary free school - Watling Meadows Primary School - to serve the growing community at the Callendar Farm development, Nuneaton, with a planned opening of September 2026. The consultation aims to seek opinions on whether the Secretary of State and Central England Academy Trust should enter into a funding agreement for the school.
